Course Description

The course provides a historical survey of the main schools, trends and literary works of American literature from its beginning (1607) until Romanticism.

The course is based on the analysis and interpretation of individual literary texts of the authors discussed.

The course offers a survey of intertextual literary connections between old American literature and world literature.
