Admission Requirements

To enrol in the second-degree double-subject study programme, one needs to have completed:

  1. the first-degree double-subject university study programme of the same subjects evaluated with 180 CP;
  2. the first-degree double-subject university study programme of the same subjects evaluated with 240 CP; in this case, up to 60 CP are recognized depending on the obligations carried out in the first-degree study programme;
  3. any other first-degree university study programmes from suitable professional fields (linguistics, social sciences, humanities) if the candidate has fulfilled study obligations essential for the second-degree study programmes prior to enrolment; these obligations are determined in relation to the diversity of the professional field and amount to 10 to 60 CP;
  4. any other first-degree university study programmes from other professional fields if the candidate has fulfilled study obligations essential for the second-degree study programmes prior to enrolment; these obligations are determined in relation to the diversity of the professional field and amount to no more than 60 CP;
  5. higher education professional pre-Bologna study programme from suitable professional fields (linguistics, social sciences, humanities) if the candidate has fulfilled study obligations essential for the second-degree study programmes prior to enrolment; these obligations are determined in relation to the diversity of the professional field and amount to 10 to 60 CP;
  6. higher education professional pre-Bologna study programme from other suitable professional fields if the candidate has fulfilled study obligations essential for the second-degree study programmes prior to enrolment; these obligations are determined in relation to the diversity of the professional field and amount to 60 CP.

The candidate can fulfil the required obligations during the first-degree study, during further training courses or by passing the bridge exams prior to the enrolment in the second-degree study programme. The obligations are determined in conjunction with both departments carrying out the programme.

Each application is dealt with individually, the scope and contents of additional study obligations from core subjects essential for the second-degree study programme are determined individually.

In accordance with Article 121 of the Statute of the University of Ljubljana, admission requirements are also met by a candidate who has successfully completed equivalent education abroad. The matter is dealt with by a person thus authorized by the University of Ljubljana; as to the content side, the formal recognition of education gained abroad is decided upon by the Senate of a given member of the University or the University itself.

If enrolment is to be restricted, the candidates will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:

For candidates under 1) and 2):

  • average grade in the first-degree study programme: 35%;
  • degree examination grade: 35%;
  • English language average grade: 15%;
  • English literature and culture average grade: 15%.

For candidates under 3) and 4):

  • average grade in the first-degree study programme: 25%;
  • BA dissertation grade or degree examination grade: 20%;
  • bridge exams average grade – 10–60 CT: 55%.

For candidates under 5) and 6):

  • average grade in the undergraduate study programme: 25%;
  • BA dissertation grade: 20%;
  • bridge exams average grade – 10–60 CT: 55%.
